Who We Are
WHAT WE BELIEVE
The Victorious House of Prayer International, Inc. Statement of Faith
God (the Father)
We believe in one God who is the Creator of all things. He is holy, perfect, and eternally existing. He is expressed in three equally divine Persons (known as the Trinity): the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. We believe that God is pure love. We, as His creation, have the opportunity to shed His love throughout this earth as we accept His Son as Saviour of mankind.
Jesus Christ (the Son)
We believe that Jesus was sent to mankind as a physical expression of God the Father and Creator. Jesus Christ was conceived as God incarnate through the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He was fully God and fully man, lived a sinless life, was crucified under Pontius Pilate, arose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, and now sits at the right hand of God the Father as our High Priest and Advocate.
We believe that Jesus Christ, as humanity’s representative and substitute, shed His blood on the cross as the perfect, all-sufficient sacrifice for our sins. Believing in Jesus Christ’s atoning death and victorious resurrection constitute the only ground for God’s acceptance of mankind into a familial relationship with Him.
The Holy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit is the indwelling of Jesus Christ in those that believe in Christ’s redemptive work as a final sacrifice for mankind’s fall from God’s grace. The Holy Spirit is sent to believers to comfort, teach, and guide the believer in an earthly world. Upon acceptance of Christ as sacrifice for our sins, He regenerates and unites us with Christ and the Father. He illuminates, guides, equips, and empowers believers for Christ-like living and service. He is the expression of Jesus Christ within us.
We are bible-based and believe that the Holy Scriptures (both Old and New Testaments) are God’s spoken Word, or expression of Himself to mankind. God-inspired human authors penned the Bible without error in the original writings. It is the God’s truth, the complete revelation of His will for salvation, and the ultimate authority by which every realm of human knowledge and endeavor should be judged. Therefore, it is to be believed in all that it teaches, obeyed in all that it requires, and trusted in all that it promises.
We believe that faith (believing in the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit without physically sight) is the foundation for the manifestation of God’s promises here on earth. We believe that without faith, it is impossible for the unseen to be seen. All who have accepted Christ as Redeemer must build their life upon their faith in Christ’s redemptive work and the resulting restoration of divine privileges. In this manner, God’s purpose of comfort and love will be manifested within the earth.
